Binghamton-6 played at Norwich Friday evening and built an early 7-2 lead in the first quarter, but a strong Norwich second quarter made all the difference, as Norwich won this one, 47-33.
With Binghamton's Matt Collins-Pringle frustrating Norwich's best player, Chris Jeffrey, through three full quarters of play, Norwich turned to its supporting cast for points, outscoring Binghamton 21-5 in the second quarter. Norwich led 27-12 at the half.
Binghamton continued to play aggressive basketball in the second half and it paid off. They outscored Norwich 21-20 down the stretch, and Jeffrey didn't score a field goal until the final quarter against Collins-Pringle.
Meanwhile, Devin Young led Binghamton with 14 points and 12 rebounds, 8 of those points coming in the first quarter. Alonzo Brunn also had a solid game - his best of the season - saving his best effort for the fourth quarter, in which he scored 7 of his season-high 9 points. Brunn added 8 rebounds, matching Collins-Pringle's 8 boards. Collins-Pringle also had 6 steals.
