The Susquehanna Valley girls travel team went 3-2 last weekend in the Owego 5/6 tournament. All the other entries were boys teams from across the region.
The girls started with a 39-20 win over Sayre, then lost to a tough Ithaca squad, 53-50 (the girls led by 5 late in the second half). SV then eliminated one of the host Owego teams from the turnament, handing them their second loss of the double-eliminatioin event, 29-23. SV then had a second-half surge to pull away and top the Newark Valley boys, 53-31. In their final game on Sunday morning, the girls lost to Cortland, 35-31, to be eliminated.
