The Binghamton 4/5 squad played inspired defense Monday night at Roosevelt, holding the Maine-Endwell 5/6 Blue team scoreless until the 4:51 mark of the third quarter. Binghamton led 4-0 after the first quarter and 9-0 at halftime and weathered an M-E fourth-quarter run to win an exciting game, 27-24.
Anthony Ferranti hit two free throws late in the fourth quarter to put Binghamton's lead at 4 points, and M-E made just one more free throw the rest of the way.
Kyeem Holmes and Suehaidee Masso did very well rebounding, each pulling down several boards against M-E's two much taller sixth-graders.
