The title of this entry is all things - energizing, frustrating and ultimately, fun. That sums up when the Binghamton 5/6 team faces Whitney Point-6.
Thursday night (January 8) we faced them at Roosevelt Elementary, minus Alex Vega (he missed the game because he was at the mall?) and Anar Doski (missing in action), and we played them tough for a third time this season. Unfortunately, we lost to them for the third time, too, this time 60-47.
That said, it was a very competitive ballgame, and as WP head coach Scott Harrington said after the contest, they always know they were in a battle when they face us.
Andre Hawkins turned in a gutty performance, leading us with 21 points, while Sarbast Doski had a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
We trailed 14-8 after one, and WP hit a 3-pointer at the halftime buzzer to grab a 28-18 lead at intermission. Binghamton clawed back a bit in the third, but what this game came down to, as it has in the previous meetings, was Zach Marsh, as he led WP with 35 points. Not much more can be said about this boy, as he is tall, athletic, a very good ball-handler and he has a soft touch, to boot. I imagine most teams have a difficult time containing him.
Still, Binghamton got back to within 6 points twice in the second half - once midweay through the third quarter, and again early in the fourth quarter.
