Improvement at Norwich

Facing a Vipers squad that trounced us in a pre-holiday doubleheader at Oneonta by 27 points, Binghamton 5/6 played at the Norwich YMCA Saturday. We had a solid start and led at the half, but despite working to slow down this running Norwich team, they simply out-conditioned us in the third quarter and into the fourth, en route to a 39-27 win.

Binghamton started well, building a 7-4 lead after the first quarter, and built that lead to 13-4 into the second period. But with a handful of Binghamton players absent, including Alex Vega and Anar Doski (both no-shows) for the second straight game, and our overall team conditioning clearly in need of some attention, we allowed Norwich to run back into it, and we led at the half 16-14.

The key was a Norwich 15-point third quarter, while we scratched out just 3 points. Through the other three quarters, Binghamton and Norwich were dead even, 24-24.

Sarbast Doski led us with 11 points and had his second straight double-double (13 rebounds), while Nicky Snyder collected an impressive 19 boards. Doski just missed a third-straight double-double in the January 3 game at Endicott, when he went for 9 points and 11 rebounds.
