Binghamton White gets win at Chenango Valley

In a very physical contest, Binghamton 5-6 White came away with a 48-35 win against Chenango Valley-6 Monday evening at CV Middle School.

Binghamton started slowly for a second straight game, trailing 6-5 after the first quarter (all 5 points scored by Nate Gaster). But trailing 10-9 in the second quarter, Binghamton went on a 12-3 run to take a 22-12 lead (three baskets and a free throw by Kyeem Holmes, two by Latrel McFarlane, and a bucket by Milton Jimenez). Binghamton led 22-15 at halftime.

CV scored 5 straight points to open the third quarter to take a 22-20 lead, and CV led 25-24 a few minutes into that quarter. But another Binghamton run (this one 11-2) put the score at 35-27, with Holmes scoring four baskets during the streak. A Gaster free throw made it 36-27 to end the third quarter.

A McFarlane basket, followed by a nice Andy Garcia drive around the right side gave Binghamton a 40-31 lead into the fourth. Another Gaster free throw made it 41-31, and a McFarlane inside shot put the score at 43-31 with a few minutes left to play.
